Places that it occurs:

This happens when in history under file maintenance and try to report history.

I.  When printing history regardless of start and stop dates Clip only prints on specific range.

Possible Solution:

A. Change invalid date

Instructions:

1. First make note of last sequence appearing on print out.

2. Next find that sequence in the history window. Is the following entry's date showing the wrong year?

3. Write down the invalid date and customer number.

4. Make a BACK-UP

5. Follow the instructions listed below

Inside CLIP, go to Files>Other Utilities>DOT Prompt.

Once in the DOT Prompt, type in the following commands.  Each command once typed into each line should be followed by an <Enter>.

The number given, in this case num=60, represents the customer number you wish to browse; you should do each customer individually.  (“60” represents the customer number—you will need to change this number to the customer in question.)

At this point, a screen will open to the table below.  You can scroll through the YTD database of the specified customer, find which date is invalid, and change it to a valid date.

The date will be changed in the Date field of the database

After you have made your changes, hold down <CRTL> and press <W> to exit and save the changes.  Then, enter the following commands to finish the process.

The “pack” process will take a few minutes—make sure the entire process is completed before any further actions.  When you’re finished, you may want to “brow” the database once again to browse and verify that the proper changes have been saved.

II.  When printing history Clip reports a customer has no balance record error.

Possible Solution:

A. Get an update

Instructions:

1. First go to help>about clip.

2. Next look at the creation date, if the date is earlier than 05/18/01, you need to get the latest update.

3. After retrieving the update, follow instructions for installing new updates on a single computer or installing new updates on a multi-user network.
