Setting up Clip on a Server

Assumes Clip is already installed and existing network is active and functioning properly

 

A.  Make a sub folder and move Clip into it

1. Make a backup

2. Open Windows Explorer on the machine that Clip is actually installed on (server)

3. On the C: drive create a new folder called Netclip. This can be done by right clicking on the picture of the C: hardrive then select - New - Folder and name it Netclip.

4. Find the Clipclas/Clippro folder and right click on it once

5. Select Cut

6. Find the new folder you just created called Netclip and right click on it.

7. Select Paste

 

B. Share the folder

1. Right click on the Netclip folder and select sharing

2. Enable sharing to all

 

C. Map a drive from the work station to the Netclip folder

1. Open Windows Explorer on the workstation (the other computers that are hooked up to main one)

2. Click on Network Neighborhood and find the main computer, then find the Netclip folder

3. Right click on the folder and select Map Network Drive.

4. Pick any available letter.

5. Select reconnect on login

6. Select Map

7. Close Windows Explorer

 

D. Create a shortcut on the workstation to the Clip.exe

1. Right click any clean (no icons) place on the desktop (the main screen of your computer)

2. Select New - Shortcut

3. Select Browse

4. Navigate (using the picture of the up arrow on the folder) to the new drive letter you just mapped. Then open the Netclip folder then the ClipClas/ClipPro folder.

5. Look for the file named CLIP. It may have a picture on it.

6. Select the file and select Open

7. Select Next

8. Give the shortcut a name (Clip or Netclip)

9. Select Finish

 

E. Make sure the new short cut works

1. Double click on the shortcut on your desktop
