Sensible Software held their 17th annual User's Conference November 14-16 where they unveiled the latest version of CLIP to be available in early January 2007. CLIP v2007’s most notable update is CLIP2Go, a feature that lets you take CLIP into the field using a Windows Mobile device.
It includes all customer, job, pricing, contact, management, history, billing and job costing information. You can edit, add or delete data in CLIP2Go and it will synchronize with your main computer via physical connection, wireless network or the Internet.
CLIP2Go has password and security protection so you can give a copy to any employee and allow him as much access as you want.
“Our users want to have access to information from their office without having to call it in or take a laptop with them,” says Dave Tucker, President of Sensible Software. “Now they can have total access to their data through their phone – no more lost Post-it notes.”
CLIP2Go also interfaces with GPS software, telling your crews how to get to the next property and recording their coordinates so you know they were there. It can collect signatures from customers and store them with account histories on your main computer.
In addition, CLIP v2007 includes a section on handling programs, rounds and service calls for lawn chemical application. CLIP will keep track of each visit and when the next round is due or can be done. Tucker says this is a new set of functions custom made for lawn companies that have been using CLIP for maintenance work. “Now if a company does maintenance and/or construction and/or lawn care/pest control, they only need to get one package,” he says. “CLIP does it all.”
